The vocational training for refugees project is an initiative of TRIMET founder Heinz-Peter Schlüter and was born out of TRIMET’s self-conception as a family-owned company.
The aim of the project is to make it easier for 66 refugees to start their lives in a completely foreign country and give them prospects in their new homeland. Besides the vocational training and the measures aimed at promoting integration, the program includes preparatory entry-level qualifications and internships as well as accompanying language courses and vocational studies. At present, 37 refugees are acquiring entry-level qualifications or working as trainees across various TRIMET locations.
The project relies on the integrating power of industry. Industrial jobs give people from different social and cultural backgrounds long-term career prospects and enable them to lead a self-determined life in our society.
